What is Aventin?
Aventin - one of the seven hills where there was an ancient city of Rome. According to legend, Romulus and Rem predicted the foundation of Rome here. On the hill there was the temple of the goddess Diana, the sanctuary of the Latin Union. Under Emperor Augustus, it became the 12 th (or 13-m) area of Rome. As a rule of Emperor Claudius, Aventin was included in the city and its citizens began to populate rich people until the capture of Rome Alarihom to 410.
